The University Public Council, in order to fulfill its assigned tasks, provides recommendations regarding candidates applying for positions in the university’s faculty:
- appoints representatives from its members to participate in the hiring and certification processes of faculty members and to provide opinions;
- candidates whose specialty does not match the required direction or when there are no vacant positions will be refused;
- to improve the quality of education, tests are conducted to evaluate the specialty knowledge, foreign language proficiency, and pedagogical skills of candidates applying for faculty positions. Candidates who fail to attend the test at the scheduled time will not be given a second opportunity;
- the tests consist of 100 questions in total: 80 questions on specialty subjects (1 point each), 10 questions on information and communication technologies (1 point each), and 10 questions on English language (1 point each), with a total of 100 points;
- candidates scoring 61% or higher in the combined test results on specialty, foreign language, and information and communication technologies are permitted to proceed to the trial lesson;
- candidates newly hired who hold a PhD or Doctor of Science degree are exempt from tests. Among candidates with equal scores, priority is given to those holding at least B2 level certificates in local and foreign languages, or C1 for foreign language instructors;
- candidates holding a main job may be recommended for part-time (up to 0.5 rate) employment based on their work experience in the following positions;
- candidates with up to 5 years of industrial or pedagogical experience are recommended for the position of trainee teacher;
- candidates with 5 to 10 years of industrial or pedagogical experience are recommended for the position of assistant;
- candidates with over 10 years of industrial or pedagogical experience are recommended for the position of senior teacher;
- candidates with at least 3 calendar years of successful leadership experience are recommended for the position of senior teacher;
- candidates with less than 3 calendar years of work experience are recommended for the assistant position (priority given to those with scientific degrees);
Requirements for candidates hired as internal part-timers are as follows based on their work experience:
- department heads, laboratory assistants, teaching assistants, and technical staff with up to 2 calendar years of higher education work experience must participate in tests and trial lessons;
- those with 2 or more calendar years of work experience are exempt from tests and participate only in trial lessons organized with leading faculty and Public Council representatives;
- trainee researchers and postgraduate students working at the university are recommended for vacant department positions based on trial lessons;
- postgraduate students who have defended their dissertations early or on time, and doctors of science with academic degrees, are recommended without competition;
- trial lessons are evaluated on a 100-point scale based on approved evaluation criteria by leading faculty members and Public Council representatives. Candidates scoring 71 points or more are recommended to the university’s hiring commission.
