
Admission to the university’s master’s programs started in the 1999-2000 academic year. Until the 2003-2004 academic year, these programs were overseen by the respective faculty deans. From the 2003-2004 academic year until 2006-2007, the “Master’s Department” was led by Associate Professor Akhtam Usmonovich Usmonov. Based on the order No. 269 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 29, 2007, the “Master’s Department” was re-established in the 2007-2008 academic year, with Associate Professor Toyir Ramazonovich Shomurodov appointed as the head. From 2018 to 2024, the department was managed by Professor Aslitdin Badreddinovich Nizamov. Since 2024, the Master’s Department has been headed by Doctor of Philology and Professor Zebo Sharifovna Tokhtayeva.
The educational process in the Master’s Department is organized at a high standard, with particular attention given to the teaching materials and the material-technical base. When selecting master’s thesis topics, customer requirements, existing industrial challenges, and scientific validity are considered as key factors.
Master’s students are fully involved in the scientific research activities of their respective departments. Additionally, they work as laboratory assistants, office managers, and assist in conducting practical and laboratory sessions for undergraduate students, with workloads of 0.25 or 0.5 part-time assistant positions.
Moreover, master’s students typically work part-time (0.5 share) at vocational schools, technical colleges, and production enterprises located in Bukhara city within their fields. Many graduates completing their master’s studies express a desire to continue their education at the doctoral level within the university.
Currently, 484 students are enrolled in master’s programs across 23 specialties. Among them, 248 are graduates of the 2021-2022 academic year.
The educational process in the master’s program is conducted in accordance with the “Regulation on Master’s Studies” approved by the Resolution No. 36 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 2, 2015, the Resolution No. 824 dated December 31, 2020, on measures to improve the organization of the educational process at higher education institutions, the “Regulation on the System for Monitoring and Assessing Students’ Knowledge at Higher Education Institutions” approved by Order No. 19-2018 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education dated August 9, 2018, and other regulatory documents.
To organize and implement the educational process for master’s training in coordination with faculties and departments, and to assist in monitoring the quality of education and teaching provided;
To conduct educational research and scientific investigations;
To coordinate and oversee the activities of all units of the institute related to master’s training;
To regularly monitor the training of masters and their subsequent employment;
To analyze issues related to master’s training and to prepare regular reports accordingly.
