From the 2003-2004 academic year to the 2006-2007 academic year, the "Master’s Department" was headed by Associate Professor Usmonov Akhtam Usmonovich. Based on the Order No. 269 dated December 29, 2007, from the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the "Master’s Department" was re-established in the 2007-2008 academic year, and Associate Professor Shomurodov Toyir Ramazonovich was appointed as the head. Since 2018, Professor Nizamov Aslitdin Badreddinovich has been leading the master's department.
The educational process at the master's department is well organized, with main focus on the educational-methodological support of subjects and the material-technical base. In selecting topics for master's theses, the customer's demand, existing production problems, and scientific justification criteria are considered as main factors.
Master's students are fully involved in the scientific research work of the respective departments, and they also work as lab assistants, heads of cabinets, and assistant lecturers for bachelor students in practical and laboratory sessions on an hourly basis, with 0.25 or 0.5 workload.
Additionally, master's students mostly work with a 0.5 workload in vocational schools, technical colleges, and production enterprises located in Bukhara city, in their respective fields. Many graduates completing their master's studies wish to continue their education at the institute's doctoral programs.
Currently, 308 students are enrolled in the master's program across 25 specialties. Among them, 231 are graduates of the 2021-2022 academic year.
