ECAMPUZ covers three key areas of food science and includes three leading global research groups:

1) Methods for food product analysis and chemometrics;

2) Food microbiology and food safety;

3) Food chemistry and molecular gastronomy.

TARGET GROUPS:

Group №1. Young scientists in food science in Uzbekistan (bachelor, master, and PhD students);

Group №2. Food science and technology teachers and researchers in Uzbekistan (young teachers and researchers, as well as deans, department heads, academic supervisors, and laboratory managers);

Group №3. Food industry workers and stakeholders in Uzbekistan.

SPECIAL TASKS OF THE ECAMPUZ PROJECT:

One CAMP per year (CAMP 1 and CAMP 3 in Uzbekistan; CAMP 2 in Spain). Total participants – 75 students. Duration – 2 weeks;

Training of 7 researchers, 6 teachers, and 10 doctoral students at European Union universities: professional development at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and the University of Extremadura (Spain). Total participants – 23. Duration – up to 3 months (1st to 3rd year students);

Organizing open seminars and practical workshops to create useful networks among researchers and industry specialists;

Establishing an academic network “Advanced Topics Cluster in Food Science and Technology”;

Creating the “Uzbekistan Food Science and Technology Society” to ensure the sustainability of the project outcomes.

PROJECT ADVANTAGES

The 1st working group, composed of young teachers from partner universities, benefits from studying in the European Union and updates education and research opportunities in advanced food sciences and technologies.

Target Group 2 benefits from updated teaching materials and improved classroom activities, professors' and teachers' laboratory skills, practical research linked to the food industry, and training provided locally by newly established UZB food sector partners.

The third target group consists of food industry partners who benefit from modern technologies and techniques, market demands, sector problems, and needs through significantly improved and qualified graduates.
